CAREER GUIDANCE CELL


 Career Guidance Cell (CGC) is a program initiated by the Higher Education Department of TSWREIS to guide the students of TSWRDC. The aim of CGC is to prepare and guide the students in reaching their goals in any stream of their choice (higher education/employment/entrepreneurship: EEE)

 VISION

To assist students in finding suitable careers.

MISSION

  • To instill a sense of purpose in students minds regarding their future careers.

  • To guide students, achieve their objectives by counseling sessions, lectures and seminars on abroad education, research possibilities, and employment in the corporate and public sectors.

 College  has a CGC with the following members. 

• A CGC Convener, the Principal of the college. 

• A CGC Coordinator, a senior faculty from any Department. Each Coordinator will serve for one Academic Year. 

• Three Career Guidance Counsellors, one for each stream (Arts, Commerce and Science). 

• The Librarian, who will be an ex-officio member of the CGC Activities: 

The CGC will meet regularly. These meetings may include concerned officials from the Head Office and CGC teams from sister Colleges. 

The CGC will organize at least one Career Guidance Event per semester relating to careers in the relevant stream. 

The event could be: 

• Giving information of types of jobs and job duties/ responsibilities in the field. 

• Discussion of entrepreneurship and startup companies. 

• Information about courses to prepare for a profession 

• Visit with a professional in the field 

• Workshop to build specific skills required for a profession. 

The CGC Coordinator will keep track of the activities of the CGC teams. She should write a brief report of the success shortcomings of the activities so that strong programs can be implemented in other colleges. 

The CGC Coordinator will help in submitting a proposal to the Head Office for funds that may be required for CGC activities.


Coaching Camps 

The higher education department of TSWREIS provides several coaching camps for the benefit of the students in the Degree Colleges for their admission into several PG courses, foreign universities, etc. The aim of these activities is to help final year students prepare for entrance exams to Masters’ courses. The eligibility criteria and the location/duration of each Coaching course, as well as screening tests, where applicable, will be notified by the Head Office. 

Higher Education Coaching Camps 

PG Entrance Preparatory Camp for Central Universities: Students are given coaching for the period of 3 months for securing admission in the Master’s program in the Central Universities across India. Coaching should start from first year of graduation and it should be in summer vacation in first and second years. 

PG Entrance Preparatory Camp for APU & TISS: A special coaching for 10 days is provided to the students who are selected to appear for the entrance examination for master’s program of Azim Premji University & Tata Institute of Social Sciences. 

CAT: Coaching for entrance into MBA programs will be organized by TSWREIS Head Office in association with T.I.M.E. in Hyderabad for a period of 3 months. 

JAM: (Joint Admission Test for Masters) Coaching will be provided for the students to secure admission especially in the M.Sc. Program in IITs, NITs and Central Universities. 

IELTS & GRE: The selected students will be trained to write the IELTS & GRE examination in order to do their Masters in foreign universities. 

PE CET Training: This will provide coaching for students to become a Physical Education Instructor. Employment Coaching Camps 

Data Analytics Course: Aims at training the students to secure employment in IT sector. 

Digital Marketing Course: Aims to help students find employment in commercial firms. 

Soft Skills Training: To groom the students in skills like communication, basic computer handling skills, work place etiquette, attitude/ behavior management, etc. to get employment.


FELLOWSHIPS

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF): This program aims to inculcate a research interest during under-graduation. Second year students are deputed to reputed universities in India and Abroad under mentorship of eminent professors for a period of 1-2 months to acquire technical skills and further enhance their understanding in their field of interest to undergo meticulous training to complement their theoretical knowledge. Since the beginning of the fellowship in 2019, more than 200 students have deputed as Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows into - Azim Premji University (APU), Bangalore - Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS), Hyderabad - Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi - Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad - University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India - University of Toledo, Ohio, USA. 


INSTITUTION LEVEL COACHINGS

CGC OF TSWRDCW Warangal East provides several coaching camps for the benefit of the students in the Degree College for their admission in several PG courses, foreign universities, etc. The aim of these activities is to help final year students prepare for entrance exams to Masters’ courses. Coaching likes JAM, GRE/IELTS, CAT provided at institutional level for the students whoever not selected for camps conducted by HE wing TSWREIS.
